Mother Blessing Ceremony

A mother blessing emphasizes a woman’s remarkable transformation on a journey from maidenhood to motherhood.

From Maiden into Motherhood

Dear Mother- to- be or loved one that wants to surprise the mother-to-be. As a meaningful, thoughtful alternative to a traditional baby shower, a mother blessing circle invites your loved ones to share their love and blessings, and it may help you to prepare emotionally and spiritually for the arrival of your child.

My goal is to guide you through your Mother blessing, which gives you the space to simply be held by your loved ones. A mother blessing can be just as you wish it to be. It can be a ceremonial focused blessing or a low-key celebration with loved ones. I offer rituals (see below) we can do and you can share and add your ideas for the blessing. Together we will find a flow that feels right for you.

What you receive from me:

  • Free Orientation call

  • Specified Ceremony (with rituals) up to your wishes

Rituals

There are many ways in which we can form your mother blessing ceremony. A way is to include rituals, a few are described here. We can also include exercises such as Hatha yoga, Tea Ceremony, meditation & visualisation or card pulling. You will receive a more detailed document with rituals and exercises you can choose of, after saying YES to our co-working. All your ideas are also welcome.

Red Thread

The red thread ritual is to acknowledge the women who came before us, who birthed us and the ones who will follow in our footsteps. A ball of red thread is passed around the circle, and everyone names the women before them and who came and will come after them. As it reaches each person, the cord will be wrapped around the wrist, and then passed on to the next person. Once everyone called on the maternal lineage, the cord is cut and tied into individual red bracelets. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Fear release

Being pregnant and with becoming a mother it can be that there are some fears or worries felt. To release and let go of the fears of the mother-to-be a ritual can be done. The mother to be can release her fears by writing them down on a piece of paper, sharing them with the group if she feels called, and can i this way ask for the support of the group

Pampering the mother-to-be

This is the time the mother-to be can sit be and relax and let herself be nurtured by their loved ones. Meaning she can ask for her hair to be brushed and beflowered, for the belly to be painted as the mother-to-be wishes. The mother-to-be can ask each guest for a hand, foot or shoulder massage or washing, where the flower bath can be used for

Affirmations

Affirmations are a way to express gratitude and share wishes and desires to support the mother-to-be. Sharing affirmations can be done in any way that is wished for, f.e. by writing down a wish on paper for the mother and the baby and read it in the cicle, or decorate it onbirth flags or on rocks with a word of strength.

Flower (bath) ritual

Each guest will be asked to bring a flower that reminds them of the mother-to-be. During the ritual each guest will be invited to share why this flower reminds them of her and share some words of love for her transition into motherhood. Each guest adds some flowers to the water bowl and will have a special moment to connect with the mother-to-be, during the pampering of the mother-to-be

Birth necklace

Each guest will be invited to bring a bead and during the ceremony, they can string it all together to form a necklace that the mother-to-becan wear during labour as a symbol that she is not alone and can help to center during the labour.

"It was such a beautful day. I feel so loved and held. I would recommend you to others. This experience is priceless."
